Gökçeyol Reservoir in Tokat reaches record water level as rains submerge road
Intense rainfall in Turkey's Tokat province caused the Gökçeyol Reservoir at Kemer Yaylası to rise to its highest level in years. Drone footage showed the lake expanding beyond its normal limits, with the surrounding access road completely underwater and several pine trees standing in the water.
The reservoir lies about 35 km from the city of Tokat and is a popular summer retreat known for its cool climate and scenery. Local resident Serkan Aydın described the phenomenon as a rare natural spectacle, inviting tourists and nature photographers to view the unprecedented conditions.
