Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter sentenced to life for murder of singer Güllü
The Yalova 1st High Criminal Court has sentenced Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter to aggravated life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of her mother, the singer known as ‘Güllü’ (Gül Tut). The verdict follows a highly publicized investigation into Gül Tut’s death on September 26, 2025, when she fell from a sixth-floor window in Çınarcık.
Key evidence presented during the trial included a voice recording where a voice, identified by experts as belonging to Gülter, said, “Hadi görüşürüz” (Let’s see each other/Bye) shortly before the fall. Prosecutors also cited messages sent by Gülter expressing hostility toward her mother, including phrases such as “When will she die?” and “Let her die.”
Defense attorneys argued that the death was an accident, citing the slippery nature of the floor and the possibility of Gül Tut falling due to the influence of alcohol. However, the court found Gülter guilty of “premeditated murder against an ascendant” and “murder against a woman.” The legal process may continue through the appeal and Supreme Court stages.
