Glarus police report 14 burglaries in October

The Glarus Cantonal Police have reported 14 burglaries occurring in October. The incidents have targeted various locations, including two schools: the Linth-Escher school in Niederurnen and the Netstal primary school. In both school cases, money was stolen and property damage was reported.

Other reported thefts include seven burglaries in laundry rooms where money was taken from washing machine coin boxes, a bicycle stolen from an unlocked garage, and a break-in at a church in Linthal where an iPad was taken after offenders searched offering boxes. The value of stolen items in these cases ranged from approximately 50 to 1,000 Swiss francs.

In response to the increase in activity as daylight hours decrease, police have issued prevention advice, urging residents to lock all doors and windows, inform neighbors, and simulate presence at home.
