Burglaries in Switzerland and France
Overview
A series of burglaries and thefts have been reported across Switzerland and France. In late September, multiple clubhouses for football and BMX clubs were targeted in the Morges region of Switzerland, where intruders broke windows and doors to steal money and other items. During the same period, a jewelry store in Lyon, France, was targeted by suspects who smashed the storefront with hammers.
By October, the Glarus Cantonal Police reported a significant increase in criminal activity, documenting 14 burglaries. These incidents included thefts at two schools, a church, and several laundry rooms. Stolen items included cash, electronics, and bicycles. In response to the rise in thefts as daylight hours decrease, police have issued prevention advice to residents.
