Glasgow police seize drugs and find lamb in vehicle
During a routine police check on the M74 motorway in Glasgow, officers discovered cocaine and heroin valued at several thousand pounds inside a vehicle. In addition to the narcotics, police found a small lamb sitting in the back seat eating a bag of crisps.
Occupants John McNeill, 56, and Lindsay Sangster were found to be in possession of cocaine worth approximately £4,640 and heroin worth £10,050. The pair initially claimed they had rescued the lamb from the roadside, which they named Pablo. However, the animal was later identified as belonging to the North Lanrigg farm in Motherwell.
McNeill was sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid community service and six months of electronic monitoring. Sangster, who admitted to driving under the influence of drugs, received a 18-month driving ban and 100 hours of community service, though an arrest warrant was issued after she failed to appear at her sentencing hearing.
