Glinka State Academic Choir performs across Serbia

The Glinka State Academic Choir from Saint Petersburg recently completed a series of performances across several Serbian cities. The choir participated in the 60th anniversary of the Mokranjac's Days festival in Negotin, with additional performances held in Novi Sad, Niš, and at the National Theatre in Belgrade.

Ilya Derbilov noted that performing at the festival was a great honor due to its long and rich tradition. He highlighted the connection between the musical heritage of Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac and Russian composers, observing that while Mokranjac utilized strict European compositional canons learned in Rome and Vienna, his use of folk material creates a profound similarity to the Russian musical tradition.
