Gliwice receives ministerial grant for asbestos cleanup efforts

The city of Gliwice has secured a ministerial grant of 40,830 PLN to support the National Asbestos Cleanup Program for the years 2009–2032. The funding, awarded through a competition by the Ministry of Development and Technology, will be used to implement educational and information campaigns regarding the dangers of asbestos.

Efforts will focus heavily on the Bojków and Ostropia districts, where asbestos is most prevalent on the roofs of single-family homes, outbuildings, and garden allotments. The campaign includes educational activities for primary school children, the distribution of posters and leaflets, and information dissemination via local press, radio, social media, and the internet. The initiative aims to mobilize property owners to remove asbestos materials, supporting the national goal of completely eliminating the substance from Poland by 2032.
