Gliwice upgrades Park Szwajcaria drainage and recreation
Gliwice is undergoing several infrastructure and recreational improvements, centered around Park Szwajcaria and the Dolna/Rymera square.
As part of a climate-adaptation project funded by the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment (FEnIKS), workers have begun installing an underground chamber to reconstruct the drainage system near the park's main entrance. This project aims to integrate rainwater management into a unified system, using the park's pond as a natural retention reservoir to prevent local flooding. Works are expected to continue until mid-November.
Additionally, funded by the Gliwice Civic Budget, BAUGART Sp. z o. o. has been selected to modernize the park's playground and create a new outdoor training space. The playground upgrades include seven new devices, such as a multifunctional set with a zipline and accessible trampolines, costing approximately 610,000 PLN. A new street workout park will also be established at the Dolna/Rymera square, featuring various fitness equipment and greenery.
