Infrastructure and recreational upgrades in Gliwice

Overview

Gliwice is implementing several infrastructure and recreational improvements. A climate-adaptation project funded by the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment (FEnIKS) is reconstructing the drainage system near the entrance of Park Szwajcaria. This work involves installing an underground chamber to use the park’s pond as a natural retention reservoir to prevent flooding.

Simultaneously, projects funded by the Gliwice Civic Budget are modernizing recreational facilities. BAUGART Sp. z o. o. has been contracted to upgrade the Szwajcaria Park playground with seven new pieces of equipment, including a zipline and accessible trampolines, at a cost of approximately 610,000 PLN. Additionally, a new street workout park featuring five exercise devices and greenery is being established at the Dolna/Rymera square, valued at 183,000 PLN. These recreational developments are expected to be completed within 2.5 months of contract signing.
