Güllü death investigation moves to trial in Yalova

The investigation into the death of famous Arabesque singer Güllü, who fell from a sixth-floor window in Yalova, has reached the trial stage. One year after her death on September 26, 2025, the case is moving forward with a court appearance scheduled for October 1.

Prosecutors have requested aggravated life imprisonment for Güllü’s daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, on charges of “premeditated murder against an ascendant.” The indictment alleges that Gülter brought her mother to the room by playing a favorite song before pushing her from the 18.17-meter height.

New evidence has emerged in the form of video and audio recordings from the crime scene reconstruction. In these recordings, Gülter claims she does not remember seeing her mother at the window, stating she only heard a loud noise and turned around to find her mother already gone. Additionally, Sultan Nur Ulu, a friend present at the time, faces charges of “perjury” with a requested sentence of two to four years.

Authorities are currently analyzing expert reports and crime scene findings to determine whether the fall was an accident or the result of being pushed.
