Güllü death trial: Defendant Tuğyan Gülter remains in custody

The first hearing has concluded in the trial regarding the death of the artist known as ‘Güllü’ (Gül Tut), who fell from a sixth-floor window in the Çınarcık district of Yalova on September 26, 2025.

The defendant, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, the daughter of the deceased, remains in custody following the proceedings at the Yalova 1st High Criminal Court. Gülter faces charges of premeditated murder of a close relative, with prosecutors seeking an aggravated life sentence.

Witness Sultan Nur Ulu, who was present at the home during the incident, also appeared at the court. Prosecutors are seeking up to four years in prison for Ulu on charges of perjury. The court has adjourned the trial to a later date to allow legal counsel to present further defenses and statements.
