Global beverage reports show surge in zero‑alcohol drinks and highlight coffee sustainability challenges

A market analysis of the no‑low alcohol segment reports that worldwide volume sales rose 4% in 2024 and value grew 6%, with a projected 9% volume increase in 2025 and a 36% rise by 2029. Younger consumers (ages 18‑25) now account for 54% of no‑low drinkers, driven by health, cost‑consciousness and new product formats such as “flexi‑drinking”. Brands such as Martini’s Vibrante and Provence‑based Estoublon are expanding the range of alcohol‑free wines, spirits and ready‑to‑drink options.

The 2026 Coffee Barometer, released on June 11, finds persistent poverty among smallholder coffee farmers, noting that a Kenyan farmer would need six‑fold price increases to close the income gap. The report cites high market concentration that gives a few traders and roasters disproportionate pricing power, and highlights upcoming EU regulations targeting deforestation and forced labor in coffee supply chains. Authors call for comprehensive market reform and greater value redistribution across the coffee value chain.
