The International Energy Agency projects that worldwide electric‑vehicle (EV) sales will reach 23 million units by the end of 2026, up from more than 20 million in 2025 – a rise of about 20 %. The market share is led by China, accounting for roughly 60 % of global EV sales, while Europe holds about 20 % and the United States about 10 %.

Chinese automaker BYD reported 4.6 million plug‑in vehicle deliveries in 2025, securing the fifth‑most valuable car brand position globally in Kantar BrandZ’s ranking with a brand value of $20.362 billion, up 41 % year‑on‑year. BYD operates in 119 markets and exported 1.05 million units, supported by new technologies such as the second‑generation Blade Battery and fast‑charging FLASH capability, positioning it for further growth in 2027.
