GlobalM integrates GMX media platform with Oracle Cloud

GlobalM has announced the integration of its GMX software-defined media platform with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This partnership aims to provide broadcasters, sports organizations, and media companies with an expanded global footprint for live media contribution, processing, and distribution.

The integration utilizes automation to create a software-defined media network on OCI. The system automatically deploys necessary compute, networking, media processing, and routing resources on demand. These resources can be scaled to meet changing requirements and are automatically released once services are complete, allowing users to consume infrastructure dynamically without manual configuration.

By leveraging OCI Flexible Shapes, GMX can optimize infrastructure for various applications, including SRT and RIST gateways, transcoding, remultiplexing, and high-throughput media distribution. The distributed architecture allows processing and routing nodes to be deployed across OCI locations, minimizing the distance for the first and last miles of media workflows.
