GlobalM Unveils Expanded Software-Defined Media Platform at IBC 2026

GlobalM announced the latest evolution of its software-defined media platform at IBC 2026, the international broadcasting trade show held at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center from September 11‑14. The platform enables broadcasters, telecommunications operators and other media organisations to run identical live IP workflows across public cloud, private cloud and on‑premises environments through a unified operational layer.

CEO Paul Calleja said the solution goes beyond transport protocols, adding orchestration, automation, monitoring, scheduling, device management and workflow automation. The company highlighted its GMX1 on‑prem deployment platform, which can run on customer‑owned hardware, virtual machines or dedicated appliances, and its GMDC (GlobalM Device Control) system that centralises configuration and monitoring of third‑party encoders and decoders, reducing complexity across multi‑vendor networks.
