Globo plans programming shifts and long-term telenovela schedule

Globo is planning significant changes to its programming schedule, including a restructuring of its Saturday afternoon lineup and a long-term roadmap for its telenovela slots.

For Saturdays, the network is considering ending its afternoon telenovela block to make room for two lines of entertainment shows. This would involve creating a new attraction to air before ‘Caldeirão com Marcos Mion’. Potential hosts being discussed for this new rotation include Angélica, André Marques, Sabrina Sato, Rodrigo Faro, and Márcio Garcia. Additionally, the program ‘É de Casa’ may undergo changes to return to its original formats, such as segments focused on crafts and home transformations.

Regarding its telenovela production, Globo has outlined its schedule for the 6 PM time slot through the first half of 2028. Upcoming projects include ‘Lá Na Minha Terra’ by Mário Teixeira. The network also plans to debut a telenovela centered on women's football, written by Carla Fahour and Julia Spadaccini, scheduled for the second half of next year to coincide with the FIFA World Cup. Looking further ahead to 2028, Alessandra Poggi is expected to return with a story set in the 1970s.
