Globo plans upcoming 9 PM soap opera lineup for 2027-2028

TV Globo has approved new projects for its flagship 9 PM time slot, signaling a transition in its prime-time programming. Author Rosane Svartman, known for works such as ‘Vai na Fé’ and ‘Dona de Mim’, has received the green light to develop her first production for the 21h slot, with a projected premiere in mid-2028.

This follows a scheduled sequence of productions including a continuation of ‘Avenida Brasil’ in early 2027 and a new telenovela by Aguinaldo Silva, developed alongside Virgílio Silva and Zé Dassilva. Silva, a highly successful author with 16 previous works in the 9 PM slot, is currently developing his next story and a separate series concept.

Svartman’s move to the prime-time slot marks a shift from her previous preference for the 7 PM slot, where she noted she enjoyed more creative freedom to blend humor and social conflict. The broadcaster's planning aims to balance established veteran authors with new talent in its most significant dramatic time slot.
