Globoplay premieres ‘Emergência 53’ series

The Globoplay original series ‘Emergência 53’ has premiered, following the work of creators from the acclaimed series ‘Sob Pressão’. The ten-episode production, created by Claudio Torres, Márcio Maranhão, and Andrucha Waddington, focuses on a fictional mobile emergency service unit inspired by SAMU.

Unlike its predecessor which centered on hospital settings, this series moves the narrative to the streets, following emergency professionals as they navigate diverse social realities across the city. The plot explores various environments, from high-crime communities to luxury hotels, highlighting different facets of Brazilian life.

To celebrate the launch, a ‘spoiler night’ immersive event was held in São Paulo. The event featured the cast and creators, recreating the atmosphere of the mobile emergency unit with ambulance scenography and original props. The production previously received the ‘Studio Babelsberg Production Excellence Award’ at the Berlinale Series Market.
