Glovo launches AI Shopping Assistant for ChatGPT and Claude

Glovo has introduced an AI‑powered Shopping Assistant that works with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude. After users link their Glovo account to either generative‑AI platform, they can describe what they need in natural language and receive a carousel of up to five locally available products, complete with images, prices, merchant details and customer ratings. Selecting an item redirects the user to the Glovo app or website where payment and order completion occur, after which the merchant prepares the purchase for delivery.

The integration shifts the experience from traditional search menus to intent‑based conversational commerce, aiming to capture growing AI‑driven shopping traffic and improve product discovery. Glovo’s chief technology officer, Shiro Theuri, said the move lets the company meet customers “where they already are.” Founded in Barcelona in 2015, Glovo now operates in 22 countries across Europe, Central Asia and Africa. The launch was announced from Kampala, Uganda, and the service is initially focused on retail and grocery shopping.
