GMV leads ARGUS mission to enhance European space surveillance

GMV is leading the ARGUS mission concept to enhance European autonomy in space surveillance and radio-frequency spectrum monitoring. The project was officially launched during a contract-signing ceremony for the consolidation phase of the IRIS² Low-LEO Pre-Operational and De-Risk Activities at the European Space Astronomy Centre in Madrid.

Designed under the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Programme Related to EU Secure Connectivity, ARGUS aims to address the challenges of increasingly congested orbits and rising radio-frequency interference. The mission seeks to provide persistent observation of both the electromagnetic spectrum and the orbital environment through a distributed network of space-based sensors. The pre-operational concept involves a constellation of up to five 16U CubeSats to detect and characterize interference, safeguarding critical space services and infrastructure.
