Overview

Spanish technology firm GMV has expanded its involvement in international and European aerospace projects through new strategic initiatives.

In September 2026, GMV entered a strategic agreement with Arabsat to implement a next-generation Mission Control Center. This project utilizes the company’s ‘Smartpayload’ technological suite to support the Arabsat-7A satellite program, employing artificial intelligence and digital twin capabilities to manage software-defined satellites.

Concurrently, GMV is leading the ARGUS mission concept under the European Space Agency’s Programme Related to EU Secure Connectivity. This mission aims to enhance European autonomy in space surveillance and radio-frequency spectrum monitoring. The project involves a constellation of up to five 16U CubeSats designed to detect interference and observe the orbital environment to safeguard critical space infrastructure.
