GMV secures strategic aerospace alliance with Arabsat

Spanish technology multinational GMV has entered a strategic agreement with Arabsat, the Arab Satellite Communications Organization, to implement a next-generation Mission Control Center. This project builds upon a partnership established in 2004.

The new control center is designed to manage existing infrastructure and is natively built to operate software-defined satellites. These advanced orbital platforms allow for the modification of functions, coverage, and power allocation in real-time via digital commands sent from Earth.

To support the upcoming Arabsat-7A satellite program, GMV will deploy its Smartpayload technological suite. This platform is designed to plan services, adjust payloads, monitor data traffic, and coordinate resources using a modular microservices architecture hosted in the cloud. The system incorporates artificial intelligence and digital twin capabilities to manage the increasing complexity of orbital operations.
