Gniezno bans electric scooters near Lakes Jelonek and Winiary
The mayor of Gniezno, Michał Powałowski, issued an order prohibiting the use of electric scooters on the promenades and paths surrounding Lake Jelonek, Lake Winiary and the Batalion “Parasol” promenade. The ban was introduced in response to a rise in collisions between e‑scooters and pedestrians in these heavily visited recreational areas.
Violators can be fined up to 500 zł, and the city will increase patrols of the zones. The regulation took effect immediately upon publication on the municipal website, bulletin board and public notice boards, and will be submitted to the Gniezno City Council for approval at its next session.
