Günzburg workplace accident leaves one dead after concrete part falls

A fatal industrial accident occurred in a work hall in Günzburg, Germany, when a concrete component weighing approximately 1.5 tons detached from its anchoring for unknown reasons.

The falling object struck two workers. A 29-year-old employee was trapped but was rescued shortly after, sustaining a leg injury that required hospitalization. However, a 50-year-old colleague succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite immediate rescue efforts.

Emergency services, including paramedics, a doctor, and chaplaincy services, attended the site. The Neu-Ulm criminal police have taken over the investigation to determine the exact cause of the structural failure.
