Godflesh releases Decay, one of their final studio albums

Industrial metal band Godflesh has released Decay, which is noted as one of the final two studio albums from the group as an active entity. The release comes amid news that the band is effectively ending its run as a live act.

Comprised of Justin Broadrick and Ben Green, the band returns to a sound reminiscent of their earlier, more abrasive work. The album features six tracks originating from the same sessions as their previous release, Purge. Broadrick has noted that recording the vocals was a physical struggle due to health issues, specifically a hernia, which adds a layer of raw intensity to the performance.
