Godflesh release of album Decay

Overview

Industrial metal band Godflesh, consisting of Justin Broadrick and Ben Green, has released its tenth studio album, titled ‘Decay’. The six-track record was released via Relapse Records and features material from the same recording sessions as the band’s 2023 album, ‘Purge’. Broadrick stated he selected tracks for ‘Decay’ that did not fit the previous release.

The album is described as one of the band’s final two studio albums as an active entity. Broadrick indicated that continuing the group has become physically unsustainable due to health issues, including a hernia and a recent major abdominal surgery. He expressed a desire to pursue new creative directions following the conclusion of the band’s tenure as a live act.

Released on September 25, 2026, ‘Decay’ includes tracks such as ‘Master and Slave’, ‘Living/Ending’, ‘Feral Colony’, and ‘Consume Me’. The music is characterized by a blend of industrial metal, sludge, and electronic elements, utilizing repetitive riffs, distorted vocals, and heavy bass to create an eerie, atmospheric environment.
