Gods Don't Give Gifts AI film seeks Oscar nomination
The AI-generated feature film ‘Gods Don’t Give Gifts’, created by YouTuber Zack London (known as Gossip Goblin), is aiming for an Academy Award nomination in the Best Animated Feature category. Produced by Fable, an AI-specialized company funded by Amazon, the film is set to receive a limited theatrical release in the United States and the United Kingdom on December 4, 2026.
The film, which has received an R rating from the MPA, is described as a dark, psychedelic science fiction and horror piece consisting of four interrelated stories. Fable CEO Edward Saatchi stated that the project aims to be a bold commentary on contemporary fears regarding artificial intelligence and the future of humanity, suggesting it could be the ‘Toy Story of this generation’.
The release date was reportedly adjusted to align with the traditional Oscar campaign season. The film was previously presented at the Venice Film Festival in September 2026.
