Godwin Attram appointed Black Stars assistant coach
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed former international Godwin Attram as the assistant coach of the Black Stars. This move is part of a technical restructuring aimed at strengthening the national team ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
Attram replaces Desmond Ofei, who will transition to focus exclusively on his role as head coach of the Black Meteors, Ghana’s U-23 side. Attram brings significant experience to the technical bench, having played professionally for clubs such as PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF, and having previously served as head coach of Accra Great Olympics.
The appointment follows head coach Carlos Queiroz’s recent selection of a 21-man squad. Ghana is scheduled to face Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on September 24, followed by a match against The Gambia in Accra on September 29, 2026, and an international friendly against Morocco in October 2026.
