Godzilla -0.0 to hold earliest IMAX screenings in Japan
The latest installment in the Godzilla franchise, ‘Godzilla -0.0’, will hold its earliest screenings at 31 IMAX theaters across Japan starting at midnight on November 3. This marks the first Japanese film to be ‘Filmed for IMAX’, utilizing specialized image enhancement and custom sound mixing for the format.
Accompanying the announcement is the release of the IMAX-specific poster, which depicts Godzilla falling toward the ground amidst a blue flash. The film is directed, written, and features VFX by Takashi Yamazaki, following his Academy Award-winning ‘Godzilla -1.0’. The story is set two years after the events of the previous film, focusing on a Japan attempting to rebuild after the devastation of war.
The cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, and Sakura Ando. Following its Japanese release, the film is scheduled for a North American release on November 6, with simultaneous releases planned across Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
