Godzilla Minus Zero sequel slated for worldwide November 2026 release
Toho’s next Godzilla film, **Godzilla Minus Zero**, is the direct sequel to the Oscar‑winning *Godzilla Minus One*. Directed, written and visual‑effects supervised by Takashi Yamazaki, the movie returns the Shikishima family—Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi and Minami Hamabe as Noriko—along with new character Kanji Murakami (Min Tanaka).
The first teaser, released in multiple markets, shows a larger‑than‑ever Godzilla emerging from the sea, passing the Statue of Liberty and confronting New York, while a nuclear bomb is dropped on the monster. One promotional line reads, “**Returning to zero is not an option**,” echoed in the Spanish poster slogan “**El pecado y castigo de la humanidad. Ya no podemos volver a cero**.” A separate English‑language synopsis adds the line, “*There won't be a third time. This ends here.*”
The film will debut in Japan on 3 November 2026, with almost simultaneous releases in the United States (6 November) and other territories. It will be the first Japanese feature shot entirely for IMAX, promising heightened visual and sound experience. The sequel follows the previous film’s $116 million global box‑office and its historic Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
International distribution will be handled by Toho and partner companies, with local releases already announced in Italy (Plaion Pictures) and Brazil (Sato Company).
