Godzilla Minus Zero to World Premiere at New York Film Festival on Sept. 26

The sequel to the Oscar‑winning 2023 film *Godzilla Minus One*—*Godzilla Minus Zero*—has been scheduled for its world premiere at the 64th New York Film Festival. The film will open as the Spotlight Gala selection on September 26, 2026, with a screening at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. Director Takashi Yamazaki and members of the cast and crew are expected to attend. Set in 1949, two years after the events of the previous film, the story follows the Shikishima family as they confront a new calamity in post‑war Japan. The 135‑minute runtime makes it the longest Japanese Godzilla film to date. After the festival debut, the movie will open in Japanese theatres on November 3 and in the United States on November 6, 2026. The premiere marks the first time a Japanese Godzilla title has debuted at a major Western film festival, underscoring the franchise’s growing international profile.
