Goiânia applies 219 penalties to medical suppliers
The City Hall of Goiânia, through its Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), has applied 219 penalties to 114 companies in 2026 for failing to meet contractual obligations regarding the supply of medicines and medical inputs.
Health Secretary Luiz Pellizzer emphasized that suppliers are responsible for delivering products within established deadlines. The administrative sanctions include 207 fines, seven bans on participating in public tenders for two years, and four warnings. These measures aim to ensure the stability of the municipal health network's supply chain.
Between 2025 and June 2026, the city invested R$ 63.9 million to acquire 506 types of medications and materials. Currently, 100% of the items on the Municipal List of Essential Medicines (Remume) are under contract. The municipal network maintains a stock of over 15.5 million medicines and 8 million medical supplies, with a supply rate in health units reaching 90.5%.
