Goiânia City Hall ordered to present new proposal to end education strike

The Court of Justice of Goiás (TJ-GO) has ordered the City Hall of Goiânia to present a new proposal to administrative education workers currently on strike. The deadline for the municipality to submit the document is Friday, August 21.

The strike, which began on Monday, August 17, centers on disputes regarding salary recomposition and career updates. The court's decision mandates that the new proposal be developed in conjunction with the negotiation commission of the Sintego union (Sindicato dos Trabalhadores em Educação de Goiás) and representatives from other municipal secretariats.

In response to the ruling, Sintego has rescheduled its assembly for Monday, August 24, to allow workers time to analyze the new document before deciding on further mobilization. Union leadership noted that workers have already shown flexibility in their initial demands to facilitate a potential agreement.
