Goiânia completes metronization of BRT Norte-Sul corridor

Goiânia Mayor Sandro Mabel has announced the completion of the metronization process for the BRT Norte-Sul corridor. This 17-kilometer stretch between the Recanto do Bosque and Isidória terminals utilizes intelligent traffic light priority technology.

With this completion, the city now has 31 kilometers of metronized BRT operation across its two main axes. The previously completed East-West axis saw an average speed increase of over 31%, rising from 16 km/h to more than 21 km/h, while intersection interruptions dropped from over 30 to approximately seven per trip.

The technology aims to increase transit agility, particularly during peak hours, by synchronizing traffic lights to create a 'green wave' for buses.
