Goiânia expands vendor restrictions and opens stall applications for June Arraiá festival
The municipal government of Goiânia has introduced new regulations for street vendors around Parque Areião during sporting events at Estádio Hailé Pinheiro (Serrinha). Vendors are to relocate to nearby streets S‑5 and T‑62, with increased preventive patrols and environmental education to protect the park’s flora and fauna, following a recommendation from the state Public Ministry.
Separately, the state government launched a selection process for 35 standardized food stalls in the Vila Gastronômica of the Arraiá do Bem celebration to be held June 5‑7 at Estádio Serra Dourada. Applicants – individuals or companies – must submit documents and product samples by May 20, pay an R$ 800 fee, and offer at least one affordable social‑price dish. The event expects around 150 000 visitors and includes musical performances and cultural activities.
