Goiânia physiotherapist arrested for patient mutilation

The Civil Police of Goiás have arrested physiotherapist Magda Oliveira da Silva following investigations into severe patient mutilation. Silva is accused of performing invasive aesthetic procedures that resulted in necrosis, infections, and serious injuries to at least seven patients in Goiânia.

Authorities report that Silva exceeded the legal and technical limits of physiotherapy by performing surgical interventions, including using scalpels to remove anatomical tissue and prescribing medications. Victims reported complications in facial, mammary, gluteal, and genital areas. During searches at her residence and commercial offices, police seized mobile phones, expired medications, and supplies lacking sanitary permits.

Investigators noted significant hygiene failures during treatments, including the reported absence of sterile gloves and masks.
