Lago das Brisas boating accident leaves man dead and child missing

A tragic boating accident at Lago das Brisas in Buriti Alegre, Goiás, has resulted in the death of a 32-year-old man and the disappearance of his 4-year-old son. The incident occurred when their motorized canoe lost control and capsized, throwing both father and child into the water.

Rescue teams from the Military Firefighters Corps (CBMGO), including specialized divers from Itumbiara and Goiânia, have been conducting intensive search operations. The body of the father, identified as Fagner de Lima Oliveira, was recovered at a depth of approximately 20 meters.

Search efforts for the child have been complicated by extreme conditions, including significant water depth, low visibility due to sediment, and underwater debris. Authorities noted that neither the father nor the child were wearing life jackets at the time of the accident. Specialized equipment, including sonar, is being utilized to assist in the ongoing search.
