Goiás offers financial aid for researchers at international events

The government of Goiás has opened applications for a financial aid program designed to support researchers participating in international scientific events. Through the second cycle of the ‘Goiás pelo Mundo’ program, 50 grants of R$ 10,000 each will be awarded to professionals presenting work between March and July 2027.

The initiative is coordinated by the Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Secti) and executed by the Research Support Foundation of the State of Goiás (Fapeg). The funds are intended to cover economy class international airfare, accommodation, and subsistence expenses.

Eligible applicants include doctors from the permanent staff of higher education institutions located in Goiás—including public, non-profit private, and community universities—as well as researchers from state science and technology institutions working in postgraduate programs. Applications must be submitted via the Sparkx-Fapeg platform by 5:00 PM on October 2. Preliminary results are expected on October 20, with the final merit analysis results due on November 24, 2024. Funds are scheduled for release in February 2027.
