Research funding initiatives in Goiás

Overview

Academic and scientific research funding initiatives have been announced in the state of Goiás, Brazil.

The Federal University of Goiás (UFG) introduced a scientific initiation scholarship for a 12-month project focused on mapping promotion policies and socioeconomic impacts within the creative economy. This research opportunity, led by Professor Estela Najberg, provides monthly stipends for students in Applied Social Sciences.

Following this, the state government, through the Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Secti) and the Research Support Foundation of the State of Goiás (Fapeg), launched the second cycle of the ‘Goiás pelo Mundo’ program. This initiative offers 50 grants of R$ 10,000 each to support researchers and doctors from local higher education and science institutions in attending international scientific events scheduled for early 2027.
