GOL Linhas Aéreas to launch Rio de Janeiro–Lisbon route

GOL Linhas Aéreas has announced its strategic entry into the European market with a new non-stop route connecting Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) and Lisbon. The service is scheduled to debut on September 16, 2026, initially offering four weekly frequencies.

Following the launch, the airline plans to expand the operation to five weekly flights starting November 24, 2026, to accommodate high demand during the peak travel season. The intercontinental service will be operated using Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. This expansion marks the company's first direct connection between Brazil and Europe.
