Gold exploration advances in Western Australia
Golden Horse Minerals has reported significant gold intersections at its Hopes Hill deposit in Western Australia’s Southern Cross Greenstone Belt. Recent diamond drilling at hole 26HHDD031 returned 16.6m at 3.4g/t gold, including a 5m segment at 9.9g/t gold. The company indicates these results suggest an emerging high-grade mineralised zone beneath the northern end of the historic Hopes Hill pit.
Managing Director Nicholas Anderson stated that the results help delineate an emerging zone with high metal content. The company is currently utilizing two diamond rigs and one reverse circulation rig, with plans for a maiden mineral resource estimate following further drilling.
Separately, Kalgoorlie Gold Mining has completed a reverse circulation drilling program at the Lighthorse prospect within its Pinjin gold project. The program involved 19 holes totaling 3,194 metres. While assay results are pending, management reported encouraging geological observations, including alteration and sulphide mineralisation consistent with gold. The drilling aimed to refine the existing mineralisation model and assess strike potential to the north.
