Gold exploration expands in Western Australia

Mining companies in Western Australia are expanding exploration efforts to identify new gold resources.

Bellevue Gold has announced plans to increase its exploration spending to at least $25 million for the 2027 financial year. The company is shifting its underground drilling focus toward growing resources and new mine areas, including the Bellevue, Deacon, and Tribune lodes. Recent infill drilling at Deacon North has identified high-grade shoots, with some results showing up to 9.3m at 62.1g/t gold.

Separately, Great Southern Mining has reported high-grade gold intercepts at its Duketon gold project near Laverton. Drilling at the Golden Boulder site, part of a larger 14,000m reverse circulation program, identified mineralisation extending up to 45m down-dip. Notable assay results include a 10-metre interval containing 2m at 10.72g/t gold. The drilling aims to probe the scale of the mineralisation beneath the project's shallow footprint.
