Gold Fields reports surge in H1 free cash flow to $2.225 billion

Gold Fields Limited reported a significant increase in financial and operational performance for the first half of the year. Driven by an 18% rise in sales volumes to 1.269 million ounces and a higher average realized gold price of $4,678 per ounce, the company’s adjusted free cash flow more than doubled to $2.225 billion compared to the previous year.

A primary driver of this growth was the Salares Norte operation, which saw production increase by 173% to 337,000 ounces. Salares Norte generated nearly $1.2 billion in free cash flow during the period, supported by strong silver prices and byproduct credits.

CEO Mike Fraser noted that the company’s safety improvement program, launched in 2024, resulted in no fatalities or serious injuries during the half. The company intends to use its strengthened balance sheet to reinvest in long-term growth assets and continue delivering shareholder returns.
