Golden State Valkyries lead WNBA Finals 3-2 after Game 5 win

The Golden State Valkyries moved within one victory of their first WNBA championship after defeating the Atlanta Dream 64-55 in Game 5 of the Finals at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Center Kiah Stokes led the Valkyries with 13 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks, including three three-pointers. Veronica Burton also contributed 13 points and eight rebounds. The Valkyries' defense was a decisive factor, holding the Dream to a 29.2% field goal percentage and forcing 17 turnovers.

Atlanta's Rhyne Howard led the Dream with 20 points, while Angel Reese recorded seven points and 15 rebounds. Following the loss, Reese expressed frustration regarding officiating consistency and the physical play during the contest.

The series moves to Atlanta for Game 6 at State Farm Arena. Due to a scheduling agreement with the Atlanta Hawks, the game is set for an early afternoon slot to avoid venue conflicts.
