Golden State Warriors face injury setbacks and roster speculation

The Golden State Warriors face significant roster challenges heading into the 2026-27 season. With Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody sidelined due to injuries, the team is looking for scoring depth to support Stephen Curry.

Kristaps Porzingis, who joined the Warriors last February in a trade involving Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield, appears to be making progress. Recent footage shows Porzingis working out and looking healthy, which provides optimism following a season hampered by injury and illness. Porzingis, who signed a two-year extension this summer, averaged 16.1 points in 15 games during his debut season under minutes restrictions.

Amidst these roster shifts, speculation regarding Stephen Curry’s future has emerged. While general manager Mike Dunleavye has indicated the organization would honor a trade request if Curry made one, no such request has been submitted. Analysts suggest that staying with the Warriors to cement his legacy may be more beneficial for Curry than pursuing additional championships elsewhere.
