Golden Tempo breezes at Saratoga ahead of Travers Stakes
Golden Tempo, the winner of the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, completed a notable four-furlong breeze at Saratoga on Saturday morning. Working with jockey Jose Ortiz, the horse clocked a time of 47.46 seconds in preparation for the $1.25 million Travers Stakes scheduled for August 29.
Trainer Cherie DeVaux expressed confidence in the horse’s condition, stating he appears fit and happy. The work was slightly delayed from its original 7:00 a.m. schedule due to dense fog but proceeded once visibility improved.
Other notable morning works at Saratoga included Always a Runner, a Grade 1 winner who breezed four furlongs in 48.5. Far Bridge also recorded a three-furlong work at Belmont Park, while Formidable Man completed a five-furlong work at Del Mar.
