Golden Tempo prepares for Travers Stakes as recent stakes winners eye future races

Golden Tempo, the winner of the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, continues training at Saratoga for the Travers Stakes on August 29. Trainer Cherie DeVaux noted that the horse completed a four-furlong breeze in 48.94 seconds with a significant gallop out, which is essential for his running style. DeVaux indicated this may be the final work of this type before transitioning to more traditional training routines.

In other racing news, recent graded stakes winners Bottas and Kentucky Belle have multiple upcoming options for the remainder of the season. Trainer Miguel Clement is considering several paths for Bottas, including the Gun Runner Stakes at Kentucky Downs or the Gio Ponti at Saratoga. Meanwhile, trainer Brad Cox indicated that Kentucky Belle, winner of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Oaks, will likely target the GIII Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky Downs on September 9.
