Golden Tempo resumes training ahead of Travers Stakes at Saratoga

The Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes winner Golden Tempo returned to the track on Friday, 17 July, for a 800‑metre workout at Keeneland in Kentucky. Jockey Ameth González guided the four‑furlong run in 48.40 seconds, marking the horse’s first exercise since its Belmont victory on 6 June, which was delayed by a post‑race illness.

The workout is part of preparation for the Travers Stakes (G1) scheduled for 29 August at Saratoga Race Course in New York. Golden Tempo, a son of Curlin trained by Cherie DeVaux for Phipps Stable and St. Elias Stable, holds a record of four wins in six starts and career earnings of $4.6 million.
