Golf Saudi announces $4 million investment in women’s professional golf

Golf Saudi has announced a multi-year investment to transform The Championship into a co-sanctioned LPGA and Ladies European Tour (LET) event starting in 2027. The tournament, which has been held in London since 2021, will feature a $4 million prize fund, doubling the $2 million purse offered in 2026.

In addition to the tournament funding, Golf Saudi has entered a multi-year partnership with the LET Order of Merit. The organization stated that these investments are part of a broader domestic development strategy aimed at increasing participation among women and girls in the Kingdom, including the expansion of academies and an LPGA Professionals programme. The goal is to reach over 30,000 registered golfers within five years.
