Golok border town gripped by panic following coordinated bomb blasts
A series of near-simultaneous bomb blasts and arson attacks struck at least 12 locations across the southern Thai provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. The coordinated wave of explosions began around 8:15 PM, triggering widespread panic and a heavy deployment of military and fire services.
In the border town of Golok, the situation caused significant disruption for travelers. Security personnel established strict roadblocks and closed key access roads, including the route to the Golok Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) complex. These closures left several Malaysian visitors stranded in the area, unable to cross back into Kelantan as originally planned. Residents and travelers reported a chaotic scene characterized by loud explosions and heavy security presence.
